Once again over the weekend of 28th and 29th of July,
Windermere's Rotary Club staged their Gala day on the Glebe at Bowness
where the culmination of each day were displays by the RAF. This is an
event the RAF enjoy giving as it a way of expressing their gratitude to
the population of the area for accepting the need for military low
flying. This year didn't have the attraction of as many helicopters on
the Golf course, but the show did attract a passing USAF CH53 and made a
couple of passes before flying on route to Mildenhall. The displays on
Saturday were Sea King, Hawk, and Tucano. Sunday was to see the Air show
open with the Red Arrows,Tucano,Hawk and closing the display a Typhoon. |
