Windermere Air Show 2007

Once again over the weekend of 28th and 29th of July, Windermere's Rotary Club staged their Gala day on the Glebe at Bowness where the culmination of each day were displays by the RAF. This is an event the RAF enjoy giving as it a way of expressing their gratitude to the population of the area for accepting the need for military low flying. This year didn't have the attraction of as many helicopters on the Golf course, but the show did attract a passing USAF CH53 and made a couple of passes before flying on route to Mildenhall. The displays on Saturday were Sea King, Hawk, and Tucano. Sunday was to see the Air show open with the Red Arrows,Tucano,Hawk and closing the display a Typhoon.

This is a favorite venue of the Red Arrows, who yet again put a very polished and professional performance for which they are internationally renowned for. At the end of their display the cheers from the crow on the Glebe at Bowness could be heard across the Lake. Both the Hawk and Tucano made faultless displays showing their aircraft off perfectly to the crowd. Finally making its debut at Windermere a Typhoon of 29 Sqn completed a stunning routine which also had the crowds cheering and having no doubt what a Typhoon can do
